RBR On Island Camp Kicks Off

About 100 soldiers from the Royal Bermuda Regiment on Monday started a one week on island camp.  The troops – from infantry soldiers from A Company, to signallers and bandsmen – will train at Warwick Camp instead of the traditional overseas camp.

German Film Crew Visits RBR

A TV crew from Germany today (SAT) filmed the island’s defence force going through their paces. The team from Franco-German television company ZDF Arte toured Warwick Camp and captured soldiers in action as part of a series on British islands.

RBR Soldiers Finish Recruit Camp

The Island’s newest soldiers passed out of the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s Recruit Camp at the weekend. A total of 40 recruits – all volunteers – celebrated on Saturday as they completed a tough two weeks of training.

RBR Win Range Challenge

The Royal Bermuda Regiment today (FRI) triumphed in a joint services shoot-out on the firing range. The RBR’s Sergeants’ Mess team beat Recruit Camp’s Section 2, the best of the rookie soldiers, in the falling plates competition after a reshoot because one plate failed to fall after being hit.

Rookie Soldiers Hit the Halfway Mark

The newest recruits to the Royal Bermuda Regiment today (MON) returned to soldiering after a mid-training weekend break.  The day off yesterday came after a section drill competition, which saw the rookie recruits perform on the parade square under the eagle eye of examiners on Saturday followed by a tough five-mile road run.

Governor Talks Business at Warwick Camp

Governor John Rankin today (TUES) said that military training gave an edge to soldiers’ civilian employees. John Rankin was speaking as he toured Warwick Camp, where the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s latest recruits settle into their first week of training.

Ministers Visit RBR Recruits

Top Government Ministers yesterday paid a visit to Warwick Camp as the island’s newest soldiers settled in to their first full day of training. Deputy Premier Walter Roban and Minister of National Security Wayne Caines toured Warwick Camp and dropped in on recruits coming to grips with military life and equipment.

Rookie Soldiers Join the RBR

Bermuda’s newest soldiers yesterday got their first taste of military life as the RBR’s annual recruitment started with a bang. The recruits saw a demonstration of the firepower in the Regiment’s arsenal, as well as training aids like thunderflashes and flares at the start of two weeks of intense work.
